‘Painting Archetypes of the Goddess’

In this workshop , we will meditate on an archetype of the Goddess, and start to bring forth the vision in a practical painting session .
We will dive into a guided meditation on a myth of the Goddess that feels alive at the time for the group , working with the theme of regeneration with Isis , The descent & rebirth of Inanna, the compassion of Tara or the beauty & love of Aphrodite.
We will then move into the Creative practical Art workshop . Emma shares her skills with an introduction on Composition , Light & dark, rendering Form & Colour. She will then coach participants in a practical session , designing a sketch and starting to experiment in paint . There is an option to incorporate and play with a more free flowing method , creating texture and seeing what forms naturally arise from the unconscious.

Emma was born & grew up on Dartmoor ,1st May 1973 , and now lives in the Ashdown Forest . Her Art is inspired by meditations on the archetypes of mythology , designed to activate powerful forces in the psyche for healing and transformation . She works with the faces of the Goddess in her myriad forms , inspired by her work with The 13 moon Mystery school , her practice of Druidry & Buddhist meditation, and her study of Egyptology , Greek Mythology , Hinduism & Jungian psychology. In her 20’s she gained a Diploma in Fine Art & Design . She later trained with Amanda Sage ,which led to assisting Ernst Fuchs ( founder of Fantastic Realism) painting for him in Vienna in 2012. She also attended courses with LARA , London , and the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
Her creative process is intuitive , influenced by Jungian concepts. She follows synchronicity’s that guide her to which archetype to work with, which can be relevant both for her individual journey and the wider collective unconscious , and can be prophetic or divinatory . Adventures unfold revealing the wisdom of the deity. The experience is integrated in the paintings, which can reveal many surprises on the canvas , embodying the lived experience of the mythology.
She has been exhibiting internationally for 17 years , including shows at the Leonora Carrington museum ( Mexico ) , The Naia Museum , Chimeria in France , The Phantaschten museum , Vienna , Breaking Convention conference London , BurningMan , Medicine Festival , BOOM and Ozora Festivals.
