‘Second Spring: Elderhood, Transitions & the Conditions for Becoming’

What does it mean to become an elder in a culture that offers so few pathways into elderhood?

Second Spring is a workshop for women in midlife and beyond who are curious about the deeper possibilities that emerge after the years of striving, caregiving and becoming. Together we will explore the menopause transition and the conditions that support a rooted, meaningful and vital elderhood.

Drawing on story, reflection, conversation and ritual, we will consider what helps women step fully into this next season of life. What needs to be present personally, relationally and collectively, for elderhood to flourish? How do we honour endings, welcome beginnings, and cultivate the wisdom that this threshold invites?

This workshop invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and explore what becomes possible when we create the conditions for our own unfolding.

About

Louise-Marlena Tarrier is a storyteller, community weaver, and Director of the Sacred Birth Centre in Glastonbury. Her work explores the stories that shape our lives, from birth and motherhood to belonging, leadership and cultural change.

As the lead for the Birth Stories Project, Louise is passionate about creating spaces where birth experiences can be witnessed, honoured and shared. She believes that every birth story matters and that by bringing these stories into the light, we can foster healing, challenge silence and contribute to a more compassionate maternity system.

Drawing on her background in transpersonal psychology, creative facilitation and community building, Louise invites people into conversations that are both deeply personal and connected to wider social change. Her approach is warm, inclusive and grounded in the belief that stories have the power to transform individuals, communities and culture.
